Our recent collaboration with ACLD (Adults and Children with Learning and Developmental Disabilities) for their 2024 Giving Tuesday initiative is a testament to the transformative power of creative strategy, visual design, and authentic messaging.

The Mission: Powering Homes, Empowering Lives

ACLD provides safe, supportive housing to more than 400 residents across Long Island. For Giving Tuesday, their goal was clear and urgent: raise critical funds to install backup generators in their residential homes. The absence of reliable power poses risks to individuals who depend on essential equipment and care. Donors weren’t just giving to a cause — they were safeguarding lives.

Our Campaign: "Be the Beacon of Light"

SEREL led the charge with full campaign direction, concept development, and execution. The theme, "Be the Beacon of Light," was more than a call to action — it was an emotional anchor designed to resonate with donors by highlighting the direct impact of their generosity.

We grounded the campaign in the lived experiences of ACLD residents and staff. Our team produced a compelling video, now available on YouTube, which served as the campaign’s narrative core. Through this visual storytelling, viewers were introduced to the real faces behind the need, making the campaign not just about power, but about people.

Design That Speaks Volumes

Our graphic design team created a bold, cohesive visual language for the campaign. From dynamic social media assets to donor spotlight graphics, every touchpoint was designed to illuminate the urgency of the cause while reflecting ACLD’s brand ethos. The "beacon" motif carried through consistently, symbolizing hope, safety, and connection.

Execution & Engagement

We developed and deployed a comprehensive content calendar that included:

  • Countdown graphics to build anticipation

  • Donation impact highlights that show exactly where support goes

  • Short-form video snippets for Instagram and Facebook

The campaign achieved strong engagement metrics and cultivated an energized community of givers who understood the tangible difference their dollars would make.
